Services

Reilly and Associates provide an array of services for parents and families:

Behavioral consultation:  We assess challenging children and develop individualized parenting and teaching strategies that are easily employed by parents in the home to address specific concerns. We focus on reducing unacceptable behaviors and in teaching pro-social skills. Language acquisition is one of our particular strengths, as is designing systems to promote continuity between school and home.

In-home parent training and support:  Parenting can be extremely complicated and challenging.  At times even the best parents need fresh ideas to help get through particularly difficult times.  We consult with you in your home to assess and design effective parenting interventions. We model and coach implementation of these strategies.  We are able to provide guidance for parents who are experiencing specific child related issues and concerns. Reilly and Associates also have experience and expertise in assisting parents of children who present unique challenges, including children who are cognitively impaired, have mental health diagnoses, are on the autism spectrum and other children with complex needs.

Educational consultation and support: We have designed valuable school interventions both for our own children and for parents we’ve supported throughout the years.  We’ve also assisted in the training of school personnel and written successful behavior plans.  We can lead you through an organized approach to achieve more fulfilling academic results.

Small group support and training: We assist in organizing support and training groups for parents who know one another or who live in the same geographic area in Connecticut. We provide general training as well as child-specific problem solving.

Long-distance virtual support for families: Through the miracle of the Internet Reilly and Associates are able to provide on-going training and support for parents who live outside of Connecticut.  This includes training and child-specific strategies based on assessments and conversations that occur over the phone and via email. Training modules: We have written several modules to help parents with their parenting strategies. These modules include decreasing unacceptable behaviors, increasing happy cooperation, behavioral rehearsal and teaching self-control and one of these modules, 5 Things to Try when You are at Your Wit's End, is available through the following link: training-modules. School skills practice: A common characteristic of children with special needs is that many of these children need repeated practice in order to master elementary reading, math and other skills. Over the years Dr. Redinger has developed skills practice sets to help her son master basic skills. She has developed sets based on letters, beginning sound blends, common suffixes, everyday objects, common places and nursery rhymes. Each set contains practice in matching, rhyming, sight words, categories, counting, adding, subtraction, and a word search puzzle. To download and use one of these sets, please click here.
